So, ah. Five weeks.

So ah, i finished my AP essay and I got on facebook because it was clearly to late to go to bed at that point and found this:
I mean, granted I'm not as active in this particular fandom as i once was (cough freshman year cough) but this is kind of crazy. it's just mind blowing that it's really coming to an end. I got into Naruto hardcore in eighth grade after finishing Inuyasha, and now I'm a senior in high school filling out college applications.
Jeez.
I don't read the chapters as religiously as i should anymore, and i don't write for this fandom as much as i once did (mostly because i don't really write anything but papers for school. Even my Merlin and Marvel fics have fallen into disrepair) but I'm sad to see it go.
I just want it wrapped up correctly.

So, I've started my junior year of high school!
My classes are awesome. So far my favorites would have to be, Chemistry, AP American History, Psychology, 11 English Honors, and Human Physiology. Mostly because my teachers are frickin' hilarious. They make their subjects interesting, usually i can tell if I'm going to like a class within the first few days, and so far i have no complaints, Then there is the fact that my "little" - i say little like that because he's like 6'2 and 280 pounds and dwarfs me - brother is a freshman, so yay! Chances to tell embarrassing stories about him to his friends!
Plus, IT'S PROM THIS YEAR, AND OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN LITERALLY PLANNING MY PROM EXPERIENCE DOWN TO THE SHOES I'LL WEAR SINCE I WAS IN SIXTH GRADE!
Ehem, sorry, my excitement got a little out of control.
But now, onto the contest. So last year i started a contest where i have my watchers guess my homecoming float theme. But spadiekitchenqueen got it pretty easily. But this year it's going to be a bit harder. So, the way it works is that on each day leading up to the pep rally and parade - i'll post a pic or word related to our theme, and you, my watchers, have to try to guess the theme. Simple, yes?
The first one to guess it gets a one shot as a prize!
It's two word and here's the first hint:

So it feels like I've been gone from here forever and literally so much as happened!
- I passed all my finals with a 70 or higher, the 70 being french, which was really the only one i was worried about, because well, je ne compronde le francais. I also passed all my regents getting a 95 on global (i studied my ass off so i literally couldn't stop smiling when i found out my grade!) an 80 on earth science (which i was literally freaking out about because biology i understand but give me a bunch of rocks and tell me i have to identify them and I'll just sit there and stare and be like what? which is why i was lucky most of the answers were found in the reference table) and a 77 on Geometry, which is honestly better than i thought i would do.
- I was a bridesmaid in my uncles wedding! We flew down to flordia and spent a few days near his house in Orlando and did Disney and Universal studios, which was seriously awesome, the highlights being The wizarding world of Harry Potter (don't have many pics though because my camera had died and my phone was on it's last leg of battery) The Haunted Mansion at Disney World (which the last time i was there was when i was six so it was funny how different everything seemed ten years later) and getting my picture taken with Pooh Bear. And then we drove down to key west (which was amazingly beautiful!) for four days for the actual wedding and it was so amazing and i now have a new Aunt!
- I got my acceptance letter to the Young Writers Workshop with full scholarship!
I got lost in NYC on a field trip and it was - an interesting experience, and also terrifying really really terrifying.
- i got my permit
- I started to try and catch up on the Naruto chapters because THEY'RE TOGETHER AGAIN AND ALSO I THINK SASUKE MAY STILL HAVE EVIL INTENTIONS AND I'M LIKE NO SASUKE NO, DON'T DESTROY THE HAPPINESS OF THE FANDOM!
- I started writing tentatively in the Naruto fandom again so something may come out of that
- I also started writing the next chapter of Different Eyes although i'm still not finished because the chapters being a bitch and i keep restarting
- I created a tumblr under the same name as here.
Laid out it doesn't look like much but really this is to say I'M BACK!

Regents and testing

I'm curious, how many of you are taking/have taken these state exams, and your opinions on them and how much they should count compared to tests like the SAT's (oh joy, what i have to look forward to next year) especially when you factor in that many places in the US don't make their students take them, and if that gives an unfair advantage to students who are not taking these when applying for colleges.
